Jackie Kennedys Engagement Ring and Jewelry Collection: There are not enough words to describe one of the most memorable lady's in United States history. We now fondly refer to her as Jackie O, and she is remembered mostly as the beautiful young bride of the United States thirty-fifth president. When one calls her image to mind, we see a beautiful woman with poise, grace, and flawless style. There were many women that tried to emulate the way that the First lady dressed and wore her hair.Jacqueline was married twice and received two magnificent engagement rings. John F. Kennedy proposed with a ring that his father actually selected. This incredible ring consisted of a 2.88 carat diamond mounted next to a 2.84 carat emerald and tapering baguettes. The ring was reset with round diamonds, totaling 0.66 carat, and marquise diamonds, totaling 1.46 carats, in 1962. The second ring is probably the most well known of Jacqueline's jewelry pieces, but also it was worn the least. Aristotle Onassis presented her with a 40 carat marquise Lesotho III diamond ring when she agreed to marry him. The diamond was one of eighteen diamonds cut from the 601 carat rough diamond, the Lesotho, which was displayed at both the Smithsonian and the Museum of Natural History in New York before being cut into eighteen different diamonds. Rumor has it that Jacqueline only wore the ring two times and then had it locked up in a New York bank vault.
Jacqueline's flawless sense of style did not just include her clothing; it also extended to her extensive jewelry collection. She preferred big, colorful necklaces and bracelets from Van Cleef & Arpel. Her jewelry collection consisted of but is by no means limited to the following:
• A 47 carat Kunzite stone bordered by twenty round diamond. President Kennedy bought this for his beautiful wife, however, due to his untimely death he was not able to give it to her.
• A Cabochon ruby and diamond pendant with matching clip earrings that were a wedding gift from Aristotle.
• A 17.68 carat ruby ring.
• A Cabochon ruby necklace.
• A pair of dangling Cabochon ruby earrings.
• A lovely amethyst necklace that had graduated drops.
• A pair of red tourmaline briolette earrings that were suspended from amethysts.
• A 19th century cabochon garnet flower brooch.
• A fascinating small scarecrow pin in gold with gems.
• A double strand black stone necklace. Jacqueline wore this piece the day that her husband, John F. Kennedy, announced his candidacy for president.
While the above list in no way represents the vast collection that Jacqueline owned, it is representative of what she was accustomed to and represented her wonderful sense of style and beauty.
Many brides of today are modeling their wedding day appearance after the beautiful Jackie O. From her simple but elegant style of dressing, her classically beautiful hair style, to her lavishly gorgeous gems, Jackie O is the look that many woman, bride or not, desire. In today's high tech world it is easier than ever to search a vast variety of stores to find inexpensive look-a-like items, especially jewelry items that resemble hers.
The author just celebrated her one year anniversary and sports a beautiful ascher cut ring. She and her husband put together the website: http://www.ultimate-engagement-ring-guide.com to help you find the perfect ring.

Colored Loose Gemstones
Astrologically, Diamond is the birthstone of April. It is also the gemstone for the 10th and 60th anniversary. Diamond is supposed to strengthen the planet Venus to increase luxury and enjoyment in your life. If you are a Virgo then according to Vedic astrology Diamond is the right gemstone for you. The glittering colour, the four perfect cleavage directions and its endurability has made it the most popular gemstone.
For the interest of Chemistry student Diamond is nothing but a carbon. It is a polymorph of Carbon just like Graphite. Its chemical formula is “C” and only “C”. It’s a native element and belongs to the sub-class Non-metallic. Diamonds are available in wide variety of colors like Blue, pink, white, yellow. The diamond processing industry values the brown diamond much more, which comes in three varieties called Champagne, Cognac and Coffee.
For the Physics students, its hardness is perfect 10 out of 10 in mohs hardness scale. Diamond is the hardest substance, gifted by nature. Just for the sake of interest, Diamond is four times harder than Sapphire or Ruby. Diamond can scratch any other mineral and the myth, “Diamond can only cut a diamond”, is true. The clarity of Diamond is transparent. The specific Gravity of Diamond is 3.5, which is well above the average. Diamond conducts heat the best. For comparison purpose, its five times better than Silver. At this scenario of this very best, the Melting point of Diamond is 3820 Kelvin and the Lattice density is also the highest. Definitely Diamond is empowered with many excellent properties to become the first choice, but again the myth of its indestructible or eternity has been proved to be a foolish notion.
Diamonds are available all over the world. Mostly it is available in Australia, Arkansas, Africa, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Congo, and Russia etc. A large mine in South Africa has started its operation just five years back.
Diamonds have been used in treatment of mankind for ages. Medical sciences have been able to find its remedial utilities in several accidental and usual disorders due to injuries, fracturing of bones etc. It is supposed to be highly effective in several brain diseases and nervous system disorders. Diamond even helps to control the hormone sequence of the human body.

Princess Cut Diamond

Is it appropriate to have a round diamond in a setting with two princess cut diamonds on the sides?
Engagement ring. The setting has one princess cut diamond to each side of the main diamond. Is it ok to have a round cut diamond in the center or will it look weird. I have no idea, that is why I am asking. The picture doesn't look bad, but I wasn't sure if there was some unwritten rule or something
Nowadays it seems to be all about personal style and what you like. It's your ring, and likely the most important one you will get. The old rules don't apply anymore regarding style, color, stones or settings. So use that to your advantage! I think the unusual or not everyday things that everyone seems to fo is much much nicer. Go with what you like best and make it work! Good luck!

Ways to Clean your Diamond
There are a few different ways that you can provide diamond care for your precious jewelry, in particular, there are different cleaning processes you can use to keep it looking as brilliant and sparkling as the day you brought it home from the jeweler!
While there are many cleaning procedures that can be done from your own home, don't forget that you can almost always return to the jeweler where you purchased your diamond and ask for a professional cleaning. Sometimes cleanings are included in a warranty agreement, so check your paperwork to see if this form of diamond care is provided in your agreement.
Detergent Bath
The most commonly used method of diamond care is cleaning your diamond in a mild, warm water detergent bath. Fill a bowl with warm water, and add in a mild detergent that you have in the house. Some people use a dish detergent, while others will use a gentle bathroom cleaner. Using a toothbrush or eyebrow brush, gently brush your diamond with the sudsy water to loosen any dirt and oil that have found their way to your diamond. Afterwards, rinse your diamond by placing it into a strainer (careful to select a strainer with holes smaller than your diamond!) and running it under warm water to remove all soap. Never use chlorine bleach to clean your jewelry, the cleanser is much too harsh.

Loose Brilliant Cut Diamonds
Quick-Dip
There are many cleaners on the market for diamond care. Select one and follow it's instructions carefully for dipping your diamond into the cleanser. Once you've dipped your jewelry into the cleanser, you don't want to touch the diamonds, because oils from your fingers can be easily transferred to your diamond. Allow it to dry completely and then wear or return to storage.
Cold Water Soak
Diamond care also includes a process called a “cold water soak”. Fill a bowl with a solution of half cold water and half household ammonia. Place your diamond into the cleanser and allow it to soak for at least 30 minutes. When you take it out, tap the jewelry around the mounting brackets and then swish it around in your cold water solution again as a final rinsing. You can set it out to dry on a piece of tissue paper.
Ultrasonic Cleansing
You can provide diamond care by purchasing an ultrasonic cleansing machine. These machines have a little cup that you fill with water and cleanser, and a place to insert your jewelry. Once you turn on the ultrasonic cleansing unit, it uses high speed motion to clean dirt and oils off your piece of jewelry.
Storing Diamonds
Another important consideration of diamond care is how to store your diamonds when you are not wearing them. Diamonds are gemstones that can scratch other diamonds or other jewelry, so it is recommended that you never place them into a jewelry box or case with other pieces of jewelry unless you individual wrap the diamonds with tissue paper. The best way to properly provide diamond care and store your diamond however, is to place the jewelry piece into a fabric lined jewelry box, or a larger case that has individual dividers that are each lined with fabric to protect each piece of jewelry.

What are Bonded Diamonds?

Loose Bonded Diamonds
Before you start shopping for diamonds, consider dealing with a bonded jeweler. Bonded jewelers sell bonded diamonds, and there are very few bonded jewelers in the world. In fact, out of all of the jeweler’s in the world, only about 5% of them are bonded. Buying a bonded diamond will cost more than buying a non-bonded diamond, but when you look at what you get with the bonded option, you will see that it is well worth the extra expense.
First, bonded diamonds have a buy back policy for the life of the diamond. No matter how long you have had the diamond, you can take it back to the bonded jeweler and sell it back to him or her, for a 100% refund. If a jeweler does not offer a 100% buy back guarantee, for the life of the diamond, then you should take a closer look at the diamond to see what is wrong with it.
Bonded diamonds also have a breakage policy. If the stone breaks or chips, the bonded jeweler will replace it with a new one – one time. No jeweler would ever offer such a policy on any stone that was not 100% natural, so just the offer of such a policy should give you piece of mind concerning the quality of the diamond. Bonded diamonds are natural and untreated.
Bonded diamonds increase in value, with a fixed appreciation rate that is designed to keep up with inflation. This means that a diamond that is worth a certain amount of money today will be worth more in the future, as the price of diamonds continues to rise. This generally does not apply to buy backs, however. It typically applies to trade-ins.
Alternately, by purchasing a bonded diamond, you are protected against the possibility of a market crash. If a market crash occurs, the value of diamonds will drop. However, the bonded jeweler guarantees to refund you the difference between what the diamond is now worth and what you paid for it before the market crash.
It may be difficult to find a bonded jeweler in your area, but if you can, this is who you want to deal with, as opposed to dealing with an un-bonded jeweler. Specifically tell the jeweler that you are only interested in bonded diamonds. You can find a bonded jeweler in your area by using various online resources, or by calling the local jewelry stores.

18K Yellow Gold Diamond Cocktail Ring
A diamond is a type of gemstone which is often believed to be everlasting in nature and unable to be damaged in any way. Although this is a nice notion to have, the truth of the matter is that diamonds can be damaged if not treated in a careful manner. It is important to note what can happen to a diamond if not treated properly and ways to safeguard against damage to one's diamond ring, diamond necklace or other type of jewelry item in which this beautiful gem is part thereof.
How Can a Diamond be Damaged?
A diamond has an extremely hard consistency to it which is one of its many wonderful attributes. However, there are ways for this lovely gemstone to be broken, scratched or otherwise damaged. Damage to a diamond can occur by dropping it on a hard surface, scraping it roughly against concrete or other similar matter or simply repeatedly storing it in a place where it is not properly contained. Although damaging a diamond is not an easy thing to do, it is something which can occur from time to time.
Ways to Safeguard Against Diamond Damage
Many pieces of diamond jewelry are worn on a daily basis, such as a diamond engagement ring, which makes the occurrence of damage highly possible due to frequent wear. In order to safeguard against damaging one's ring, bracelet or other diamond jewelry piece, there are a few steps one can take in their daily wear and storage of such an exquisite item. When wearing the diamond, one should always be cautious when doing so and try not to bang into any walls or other fixtures which may put a chip in the diamond or even break it if the contact is hard enough.
Another way to carefully wear one's diamond jewelry piece is to ensure a tight fit on the ring or complete closure of the clasp. If one's diamond jewelry item does not fit right or is not closed properly, they are more likely to drop the jewel and have it be stepped on or crack upon hitting a hard, unforgiving surface. In order to ensure that the diamond jewelry item fits well and closes properly, it is a good idea to have a jeweler look at it from time to time to ensure that it is in tiptop shape.
Damage in the form of scratching can also occur to the diamond if it is not stored properly. The best place to store one's diamond jewelry is in a felt covered jewelry box where each jewelry item has its own separate compartment. This will help to ensure not only that the item is in a spot where it will not bang up against other jewelry items but that it is in a place where one will not lose sight of it. In order for a diamond to be scratched it must come in contact with another diamond which has the same hardness.
Insure Your Jewelry Items
An additional safeguard to have in place involves insurance on the diamond jewelry item. Since diamonds are often pricey in nature, it makes sense that one would want to insure the jewelry item in case it were to be lost, stolen or damaged. Although most insurance companies will not insure loose diamonds, there are many which are more than happy to offer insurance policies which will cover your diamond once the gem is placed in a fixed setting. An insurance policy which covers this precious stone is a great way to cover your losses should it be damaged in any way.

Brilliant Cut Cognac Red Diamond
Today's women are very cautious about their jewelry especially their engagement ring. They want their engagement ring to be beautiful and unique. And if you are looking for unique engagement ring for your beloved then you must surf online stores. There you can find host of choices in different combinations and styles.
Online stores offer certified diamond of your ideal specification which you can set in your perfect ring. And because of low overheads these stores offer engagement rings and other jewelry at low prices compare to local jewelry store.
But diamond engagement rings are lifetime investment therefore it is very important to buy the right ring for your special someone because it will be cherished by her forever. Hence before selecting your ring you must think of clarity and color of the diamond. Always remember that if you want a diamond which is free of marks then you must select a stone above S12. It is difficult to see the marks with your naked eye.
But you can see the marks with a loupe which is used by jewelers. You can easily find colorless and fancy colored diamond by surfing the online stores. But always remember that if you want to save money then you can buy fancy colored diamonds because colorless diamonds are little expensive compare to colored diamonds.
Apart from clarity and color you must consider cut and carat of diamond also. At online stores you can find engagement rings of round shape, heart shape, emerald cut, oval cut, princess cut and marquise cut. But selecting a cut of your diamond is a matter of preference of your partner. But if you will think according to your cost then you will find that there are many fancy cuts which are less expensive that round cut.
And at last is your carat of diamond. Carat means weight and it is measured in carat. Always remember that diamond of same carat, color and clarity may differ in prices due to its other characteristics which includes cut. You must keep in mind that a diamond which is nicely proportioned will have high prices compare to those which are poorly cut and it will also handle the light differently and will produce more fire. Hence this is the reason why people give more importance to the cut of diamond compare to other factors.
By purchasing form online stores you will get diamond certification which includes all the information of diamond and its characteristics. Always remember that if you will buy your ring from online jewelry stores then you will be assured that your love gift is the best.

Marquise Cut Loose Diamond
The quest to find the perfect diamond is the goal of many buyers, whether they are looking for an engagement ring, wedding ring, loose diamonds, or other piece of fine diamond jewelry. In some ways the term "perfect" is subjective - if she is satisfied with the 18k white gold, pave set, heart-shaped diamond studded engagement ring you have chosen for her, then to her "perfect" is the visible display of love you are offering - nothing else matters!
However, perhaps there is a particular diamond that you'd prefer he buy for you, something he may not know and could use your help selecting. He is rightfully concerned that a particular diamond on display may not look quite right when worn on your hand, but he isn't certain which one will look the best. Maybe he understands that the diamond ring he chooses should complement your existing jewelry or that you prefer something less traditional, a different metal color, or have some other preference he isn't aware of.
Some couples like to flip through a jewelry catalog, navigate their way around a professional jeweler's website, or head to the mall to try on and examine a variety of pieces. This can be an excellent way to show him what you like while allowing him to make the purchase himself and "surprise" you later on. If he needs additional help, you can share with him a concise overview of what to look for in a diamond, whether for a ring or a loose diamond.
The following overview highlights the attributes found in every diamond:
Four C's Of Diamond Selection
The four attributes of any diamond are its color, clarity, ideal cut, and carat (weight).
Color - Concerning diamonds, the less visible the color, the better. Diamonds are categorized according to range, with five ranges consisting of colorless, near colorless, faint yellow, very light yellow, and light yellow. Each range is assigned several letter grades with D-F being colorless, G-J near colorless, and so on. Traditionalists will likely choose a colorless diamond while most shoppers are very happy with near colorless diamonds as they appear colorless when held face up. Near colorless diamonds are particularly prized for their excellent value.
Clarity - The number of blemishes, particularly the location and amount of flaws, will determine a diamond's clarity. It takes special magnification to see flaws when they are present. A flawless diamond is a rarity, containing absolutely no inclusions and different grades are assigned to diamonds with various levels of inclusions. Those diamonds with inclusions visible to the naked eye are considered imperfect and are of low value, not something to consider giving as a gift.
Cut - While the shape of a diamond is important, the distribution of mass determines just how well the stone handles light. An ideal cut diamond will reflect light back through the top facets of the rock. A poorly cut loose diamond - too shallow or too deep - means that light will escape through the bottom of the stone, hampering the diamond's brilliance. Go with an ideal cut diamond and you'll have chosen an appealing diamond.
Carat - When you think of carat, you are concerning yourself with the diamond's weight. Carat weight determines price with larger carat stones costing more. Though two diamonds may weigh the same, color, clarity, and cut can influence their value greatly.
Truly, the "perfect" diamond is one that has a good balance of attributes, but is also something that is selected from the heart and presented by the man to the woman he loves as a tangible expression of his love and commitment to her. Beyond doubt, there isn't anything more perfect then that!
